Cannons are knight upgrades that are introduced in Legend of the Conquerors. They are associated with the foundry upgrade building, represented by the foundry tile. Because the two components are heavily associated with each other, both are discussed here.

Appearance

As with other player pieces, cannons are wooden pieces in English sets and plastic pieces in international sets.

Foundry tiles are irregularly-shaped tiles, depicting the cost of the foundry upgrade building on one side, and a description of the cannon’s benefits and detach cost on the other side. Aside from the picture of the cannon piece, they are otherwise identical between English and international piece.

Gameplay

Cannons are a knight upgrade associated with the foundry tile.

• Each player begins with the foundry tile showing the foundry upgrade building and its cost, and the cannon piece in their supply.
• Once the foundry is built, the foundry tile is flipped, and the cannon may be attached to a player’s own knights.
  • The rules do not state whether the foundry may be built when the cannon cannot be attached to a knight.
• A knight with an attached cannon is known as a cannoneer. A cannoneer has 1 additional strength compared to a knight of the same rank. For example, a basic cannoneer as the same strength as a strong knight.
