The Traders & Barbarians scenario “Traders & Barbarians” uses a custom Development Card deck in place of the one used in the base game.
Note that this deck is not used when playing “Traders & Barbarians” with either “Barbarian Attack” or Cities & Knights; instead, the decks from the latter are used. (Note that there is no provision of combining all three together, but in such an occasion, the Progress Cards from Cities & Knights would be used instead.)
Appearance
As with all card decks, English and international cards are different in size, with English size using the bespoke “Catan size” (54mm x 80mm) cards and international sets using the mini European size cards (43mm x 67mm).
The card back for the development card deck has a clear indicator of which scenario it is associated with. The English 6th edition and 4th international edition has adopted a unified language-agnostic card back with a yellow color scheme.
Gameplay
The Development Cards of “Traders & Barbarians”, for the most part, play identically to that of their base game counterparts.

Road Building: This card allows two roads to be placed at no cost.
This card is identical to that of its base game counterpart.
Swift Journey: This card can only be played after the wagon has moved, and allows the wagon to be moved a second time.
Victory Point: This card is worth one victory point, and can only be revealed when a player declares victory.
This card is identical to that of its base game counterpart.
