A Baggage Train is a set of five cards used to outline the abilities of a player’s Wagon. These were included with the English 4th and 5th editions (2nd and 3rd international editions) of Traders & Barbarians, but were replaced in the English 6th edition (4th international edition) with the Wagon Board.

Appearance

Each player has a single Baggage Train, consisting of a series of five cards arranged in a specific order. Each card has a background matching one of the player colors, and are otherwise identical between players. Each card is associated with a level, which contains information on the Wagon’s movement range, ability to drive off Barbarians, and the gold received when [Commodity Tokens][commodity-token] are delivered.

Gameplay

• At the start of the game, the five cards are stacked face-down in order by level, with the Level 1 card at the top. Before the game begins, the top card is flipped face-up and placed next to the face-down cards.
• A player may pay the upgrade cost of the wagon, depicted on the back of the next card in the face-down stack, to flip the card face-up. This card is then placed on top of any previously flipped cards.
• Full Upgrade Bonus: A player having flipped all five cards face-up earns one additional victory point.

1 set of 5 cards for the red, blue, orange, and white players are included with the English 4th and 5th editions (2nd and 3rd international editions) of Traders & Barbarians. 2 additional sets, for the green and brown players, are included with the English 4th and 5th editions (2nd and 3rd international editions) of the Traders & Barbarians extension.
