The Catan chit is a multipurpose marker introduced in the 2nd international edition of Seafarers, and later in the Engish 4th edition of Seafarers released two years later. Catan chits are meant to be multipurpose markers, though most uses of Catan chits used them as victory point markers.

For the English 6th edition and 4th international edition, the term “Catan chit” is no longer used: Seafarers scenarios that used Catan chits for purposes other than victory point markers now have dedicated components. As such, they are referred to solely as victory point markers.

Though the design of Catan chits may have changed between different products, as victory point markers, they are generally meant to be interchangeable between different design.
