Catan Scenarios: Oil Springs is a scenario created in 2011 by Erik Assadourian and Ty Hansen, in cooperation with Transforming Cultures Project of the Worldwatch Institute, to raise awareness of the effects that the use of oil has on the environment. It can be obtained for free from its official website, but pre-printed copies are also available.

The graphics of this expansion is designed to be seamless with the English 4th edition of the games.
